Get ready for BIL SF 2014 on March 1-2, 2014. A "Talks" tab has been added to allow members of the community to talk about their own topics they consider presenting and to reveal our set speakers.  However, we will heading back to basics with the majority of our day-of speakers.  In other words, "Hello whiteboards!"

9:45 am -- Opening Remarks

10:00 to 12:30 pm -- BIL talks, activities, conversations

12:30 to 2:00 pm -- Lunch by Street Food Vendors

2:00 to 5:30 pm -- Continued BILding

5:30 to 6:15 pm -- Closing remarks and Auction

8:00 to Midnight -- Langton Labs after-party

Food, the Final Frontier: An Adventure in Molecular Gastronomy

Join us at Langton Labs for a late-morning exploring the intersection of science, art and food!  There will be a talk by Tami Spector, a chemist and expert on molecular gastronomy and then opportunities for participants to take part in food craft.  We'll have things to taste, too.  Note: BIL ticket gets you in, but $10 at the door gets you grub.  Now FREE!

Connecting B.R.A.I.N.S: A Roundtable Meal and Conversation with Dinelle Lucchesi

Join us at Langton Labs

Biology, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Nanotech and Space (B.R.A.I.N.S) are undeniably rad fields inextricably linked in the beautiful matrix that drives the evolution of the human condition. This meal and conversation will be a humorous and constructive chance for people in the B.R.A.I.N.S. fields to share our bright ideas about merging our intelligence and resources to achieve our high goals for humanity. Topics might include but are not limited to: Increased and optimized collaboration and communication, Professional positions that should exist and who should fund them, Creative fundraising for early stage life science funding, Delusional and self-interested thought leaders we should ignore aka the pros and cons of fame and money, and How to clear pesky hurdles like greedy governments and people with bad attitudes...

NOTE: Please arrive on time with food or drinks to share and be ready to keep it real.

Public Works is a ground-breaking new event space in San Francisco’s Mission District.

Public Works is located in the Mission District, San Francisco at 161 Erie Street (off Mission St. between Duboce & 14th St.).  Street parking with convenient public transportation (encouraged!), Highway 101 and the Bay Bridge.  There is also secure, on-site bike parking.
